Boom For Real, Jean-Michel Basquiat at the Barbican
One of the best shows I've been to in a long time. When looking at his work I could feel his energy; fixed in the rhythm to his paint strokes and the colours in his palettes. His book collection forms part of the exhibition and I wish some of them featured in my own packed studio shelves. Maybe because I'm a similar age to Basquiat when he left this world I don't know, but I found this show moving and it really made me think about how I work and my studio practice as much as the work on display.
I definitely will visit this show again.
I definitely will visit this show again.
I also spotted this Banksy on the way that seems to have appeared during the opening week.
